Taking the first step in your smile journey
Your consultation with us is completely free (we throw in coffee and muffins, too!) We’re genuinely glad to see you, so you can expect to be greeted warmly by our awesome front desk team every time you walk in the door. On your first visit, we’ll give you a brief tour of the office to help you feel more comfortable with your surroundings, then introduce you to our treatment coordinator. She’s extremely easy to talk to and will walk you through your concerns about your smile and what goals you have for orthodontic treatment. Then it’s time to meet the doctor!
After saying hello, Dr. Wedding or Dr. Thompson will assess your smile and bite. This examination is quick and painless but very thorough. Based on the results of this exam, the doctor will discuss the following with you:
- if there are oral issues present that orthodontics can correct
- whether treatment is needed now or if it would be better to delay it until the appropriate growth, tooth eruption, or other factors have occurred
- if any permanent teeth will need to be removed before beginning treatment
- what treatment options are available to address the problem
- the estimated treatment times
- how much the treatment process will cost
- any payment options available to you
If Dr. Wedding or Dr. Thompson feel that orthodontic treatment would benefit you and you’re happy to move forward with it, he’ll create a personalized treatment plan for your specific needs. This will give you the best results in the shortest possible time!

The next step is up to you
Once you’ve been examined by Dr. Wedding or Dr. Thompson and decided on a treatment plan, the next step is up to you! Beginning your orthodontic journey is a big decision and we don’t want to rush you. If you need time to think about things, we can schedule an appointment for you in the future, but we can also get started the same day if you’re ready! We’ll take some photographs and X-rays of your mouth along with a digital iTero scan, which allows us to make molds of your teeth without using the traditional goop most patients dread. We’ll set up an appointment for you to have your braces placed or receive your first set of aligners, then work up a schedule so you’ll know exactly when you’ll be coming in for follow-up visits!
